Swansea boss Paulo Sousa looks set to be scuppered in his attempts to sign Shefki Kuqi.Sousa had hoped to bring in the former Ipswich, Blackburn and Crystal Palace striker, who plays for German side TuS Koblenz, on a short-term contract.
But it is believed that a deal is unlikely to go through as Kuqi’s representatives are looking for a payment to set up the transfer.
Swans chairman Huw Jenkins told the South Wales Evening Post: “Paulo was keen on Kuqi, but I looked into that option and sometimes what is demanded comes nowhere near what we are prepared to offer.
“As things stand, the move is not going to happen.”
But this latest setback will not prevent the Swans from trying to bolster their attack and Jenkins added: “Paulo wants to get someone else in and we are still on the lookout for the right striker.”
